Ocassional Spies - DOcumentary movie
“Occasional Spies” is a documentary directed by Oana Giurgiu. The film examines a particular episode of the Second World War, when, in the spring of 1944, the MI5 secret service office in Cairo decided to recruit potential spies to organize the escape of prisoners of war from Eastern Europe.
The film is constructed primarily as an extensive montage of photographs, offering a unique cinematic experience enhanced by sound effects and an original soundtrack. I took the photographs over a period of at least 10 days of photo shoots, spanning mid-2017 to early 2020. During those days, I created more than 48,000 images, working under conditions similar to those of film production. I photographed in Bucharest and Oradea, through the Transylvanian mountains and across the plains of Teleorman.
Of the 48,000 images, approximately 2,000 were included in the film, comprising about 80% of the material, alongside archival photographs and documentary footage (original photos from the era), as well as several testimonial interviews.
“Occasional Spies” premiered at TIFF 2021 and was also screened at Astra Film Festival 2021, TIFF Oradea 2021, and Cinefest Miskolc Film Festival 2021 (Hungary). The film had its gala premiere in Bucharest in 2022, after which it entered the Romanian cinema network.
“Occasional Spies” won the Best Documentary Award at the Romanian Filmmakers’ Union Awards Gala (UCIN) 2023, as well as the title of Best Documentary Film at the Gopo Awards Gala 2023. Thus, Occasional Spies received the two most important distinctions the Romanian film industry had to offer in 2023.
Portraits of the Romanian Olympic Team for the Paris Olympics 2024
In 2024, I had the privilege of being invited by the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee to photograph the Romanian Olympic Team in their official parade uniforms for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The photographs were subsequently featured in official press releases and in a public relations campaign initiated by the Committee on that occasion.
"Project 112"
I photographed "Project 112" in 2009 as part of a social campaign against domestic violence. The team and I worked on the project, selected 24 male celebrities in Romania, and placed them in similar visual situations to those of the real victims. We chose men because they are the usual aggressors, statistically speaking, and we wanted to show them, through some influential male leaders, how it feels to be a victim.

We exhibited the project at various shows in Bucharest, Iași, Timișoara, Cluj, and Suceava from 2009 to 2014.

Mercedes Bucharest Fashion Week 2024 - promo images
In 2024, I had the opportunity to produce photographic and video content for the first edition of Mercedes-Benz Bucharest Fashion Week. Here are some images featuring the fashion designers invited to participate in the event, along with their creations. The photographs were published on the official festival channel as well as on the social media accounts of sponsors and designers.
“Love That Breaks Down Walls”
In 2023, I was invited to create a series of portraits for a social campaign initiated by the Community Development Agency “Împreună.” The project highlights remarkable Roma individuals who have succeeded in life despite the strong stigmas attached to their ethnic identity. Their stories emphasize that success is rarely solitary—it often comes with the support of loved ones. For each portrait, the subjects chose to be photographed alongside people who had profoundly influenced their lives, such as parents, siblings, mentors, partners, or close friends.
These images became the exhibition “Love That Breaks Down Walls”, which was presented at the National Theatre in Bucharest and shown at festivals and cultural hubs throughout 2023. It was also showcased at a special event at the residence of the British Ambassador to Romania.
DOR Magazine - "100 for Romania's tomorrow".
100 portraits I created for DOR Magazine as part of a special project curated by the magazine's editorial team, featuring 100 individuals the editors believe will shape Romania's future. The project was published in the magazine throughout 2018 and showcased in a large exhibition in Bucharest in December 2018.

Kaufland - A.C.C.E.S. Program
Kaufland celebrated 5 years of the A.C.C.E.S. program (Employment of Candidates with Special Requirements and Developments), a hiring and integration program within the Kaufland team, dedicated to people with disabilities. In this context, I created portraits of 14 Kaufland employees, photographs that materialized into an exhibition entitled “ALT Portraits / Alternative Portraits.” As the name clearly suggests, it was an attempt to change the perspective on diversity and inclusion through photography. The exhibition toured across Romania as part of the A.C.C.E.S. events organized by the company.
